The PINK ANGEL camp at  ACE City, Greater Noida West, on October 26, 2024

The PINK ANGEL camp, held at  ACE City, Greater Noida West, on October 26, 2024, was a tremendous success. With the theme CATCH THEM EARLY, the camp was a collaborative initiative between KAL Foundation, Avishka Council, I CAN WIN FOUNDATION, and organized by MAX Vaishali and ICanCaRe. With a focus on early detection and preventive care, the event empowered women and raised awareness around breast cancer risk factors and screening options.

 Dr. Pawan Gupta, Sr. Director at MAX Vaishali and Founder of ICanCaRe, served as the Chief Guest. Dr. Nishant Srivastava (Avishka Foundation), Dr. Rajeev Verma (KAL Foundation), and Ms. Akansha Sethi (MAX) managed the event arrangements.

ACE City Apartments Owners association President,  Ms. Namrata and Secretary Mr. Saurabh Kumar provided the logistics and inspired the residents to take benefit of the camp.

The event emphasized practical and accessible strategies for breast cancer prevention:

  • Dr. Pawan Gupta shared actionable guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle to reduce cancer risk. His key message, “A proactive lifestyle can be a powerful line of defense,” encouraged women to adopt regular self-examinations, noting that “Three minutes, three fingers, once every 30 days can save lives.”
  • Dr. Noopur Patel presented on essential practices for early diagnosis, focusing on the importance of routine screenings and risk management.

Screening Outcomes

The camp focused on essential health screenings, with 20 women receiving mammography services and 88 individuals undergoing general screenings, including bone densitometry, oral examinations, and routine blood tests. The workshop provided extensive health services to attendees, reinforcing the importance of regular check-ups:

Event Impact and Community Engagement

The workshop successfully reached a large audience, creating awareness and emphasizing the importance of early intervention. Participants left with practical knowledge on preventive care, recognizing that lifestyle changes, self-examinations, and regular screenings are essential to reducing breast cancer risks.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ace City AWA President, Mrs Namrata to all attendees and volunteers for their dedication and contributions, marking another impactful step in community health outreach and breast cancer awareness.

Inner Wheel District 304 join hands with ICanCaRe to launch #SAVEtheyouth from Tobacco.

Inner Wheel District 304, motivated by Mrs. Sonal Bhatia, Tobacco MARSHAL leader, join hands with ICanCaRe to promote Tobacco Control – SAVE the youth from Tobacco and build manpower to work towards tobacco endgame.

The initiation was when District Chairman Mrs Shashi Shukla had an online meeting with her district Presidents and Members on “WOMEN AS TOBACCO MARSHALS TO SAVE THE YOUTH” and introduction of the concept of Tobacco MARSHALs on 25th February 2023.

More than 120 including presidents and members of district 304 attended the meet with the outcome of enthusiasm to work for a better and healthier society as TOBACCO MARSHALs. Mrs Shashi stressed that tobacco is omnipresent, and it is important that inner wheel members come forward to tame the tambaku-asur.

Mrs. Sonal Bhatia, leader Tobacco MARSHAL a great motivator and who achieved a target of 1000 tobacco MARSHAL in 5 months during her tenure as DC of 310  was great appreciated for her pioneering work as a Tobacco Marshal along with her members . Her unique endeavour to reach out to the rural areas and create sensitization followed by training of 550 tobacco MINI-MARSHALs of NCC girls from the rural background was applauded and sought to be used as an example to follow by all to increase our reach and penetration in the most needed areas in our country .It is  Important for  capacity building, to get more and more girls and  women involved as Tobacco MARSHALs or MINI- MARSHALs to widen the campaign. Dr. Pawan Gupta, Dr. Reena R Kumar,  Dr. Pravesh Singh and Mr. Rishabh Agrawal from ICanCaRe delivered a talk at a webinar on ( 25/02/2023  1500- 1700 hrs ) emphasizing  on the damages thrust on  women by tobacco and how women can become the shakti against Tobacco by commitment and empowerment by training.

Dr. Pravesh Singh, the first Teacher TOBACCO MARSHAL of India, said how as a TOBACCO MARSHAL was empowered to  create transformation  in her Institute. Teachers have a major role to play in the life of students and can instill right thoughts in the mind of a child from the very beginning.

Rishabh showcased the ICanCaRe APP (www.app.icancare.in) which is a handy tool to self educate for the addicts and learn about the harms of tobacco .

Members expressed their enthusiasm to become TOBACCO MARSHAL and SAVE the youth from the menace of tobacco. Mrs. Beena Shah, Vice-Chairman of Inner Wheel District also expressed her full support and to carry on this as a project during her tenure

Interest from the audience evoked numerous questions at the webinar.  It was agreed that it is important that we start tobacco control from our home and go on to increase our area of influence in society. Every woman should be empowered to save the present and future generation from the  TAMBAKUASUR

Mrs. Sonal Bhatia expressed her gratitude as her wish to achieve 10000 tobacco MARSHALS gains momentum with the inner wheel district joining  her in her mission to SAVE the youth- NO ONE SHOULD DIE BECAUSE OF TOBACCO.

It is really heartening to note that district 304 of Inner Wheel involved with District Chairman, Mrs. Shashi Shukla, is all set in taking the lead. She assured that more and more members will get involved.

  1. To become a tobacco MARSHAL one has to register on www.icancare.in/academy/marshal and pay a fee of Rs.1450/-. The course would be conducted by experts as per guidelines that will be followed for a standardized and timely upgraded course by ICanCaRe.
  2. Knowledge – 4 hours of live interaction in 2 hours sessions. 8 modules. By experts.
  3. The Topic will contain the following encompassing the following requirements: RELEVANCE, RISK, REWARDS, ROADBLOCKS, RECOGNITION, RESPOND, REFER, and RESPONSIBILITY

The journey has become for the NARI SHAKTI to end the menace of tambaku-ashur,

SAVE the youth Girl Sensitization at Gandhi Nagar Public School, Moradabad

मैक्स पटपड़गंज द्वारा समर्थित आई कैन विन फाउंडेशन and Fluoride Fellowship Inc.(USA) के साथ ICanCaRe ने गांधी नगर पब्लिक स्कूल, मुरादाबाद में लड़कियों के लिए #SAVEtheYouth संवेदीकरण कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया।
 कार्यक्रम में सेव द यूथ प्रमोटर और टोबैको मार्शल की नेता श्रीमती सोनल भाटिया, और ICanCaRe महिला स्वास्थ्य पहल की निदेशक, डॉ मनीषा पांडे और डॉ पवन गुप्ता, निदेशक मैक्स सुपर स्पेशलिटी अस्पताल वशाली और पटपड़गंज उपस्थित थे।
 कार्यक्रम में कक्षा 8, 9, 10, 11 और 12 के छात्रों ने भाग लिया और तंबाकू के खिलाफ बहुत मुखर थे।
 प्रधानाध्यापिका शशि शर्मा ने बच्चों को संबोधित किया और उन्हें युवा बचाओ अभियान से जुड़ने के लिए प्रेरित किया। कई छात्रों ने तम्बाकू मार्शल बनने के लिए स्वयंसेवा की और यह सुनिश्चित किया कि वे अपने परिसर को तम्बाकू मुक्त बना देंगे।
 डॉ. पवन गुप्ता एम.सी.एच. निदेशक कैंसर सर्जन, मैक्स अस्पताल, पटपड़गंज और वैशाली ने बच्चों को ई-सिगरेट सहित तम्बाकू के खतरे और नुकसान के बारे में बताया। सभी बच्चों से कहा कि कभी भी एक बार भी प्रयास न करें। निम्नलिखित बात पर बल दिया गया:
1. होशियार बनो शुरू मत करो
2. तंबाकू पर जीत आसान है
3. सावधान और भयभीत रहें
4. छोटा दाना - अपनी मौखिक गुहा की आत्म-जांच करें
5. तंबाकू मार्शल बनें - प्रभावित करने वाला
6. पान मसाला और ट्राईकेयर
 डॉ मनीषा पांडे ने हर लड़की के स्वस्थ कल्याण के लिए आवश्यक 5 की शक्ति पर प्रकाश डाला | सभी बच्चे अत्यधिक प्रेरित थे और अंत में, प्रत्येक ने प्रतिज्ञा ली - न तो कभी तंबाकू का सेवन करेंगे और न ही किसी तंबाकू का सेवन करने वाले से दोस्ती करेंगे।

 श्रीमती सोनल भाटिया, इनर व्हील 310, राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर एसी सदस्य। उसने 3 महीने में 1000 टोबैको मार्शल बनाए। प्रत्येक छात्र को टोबैको मार्शल बनने के लिए प्रेरित किया, जो समाज को प्रभावित करता है। तंबाकू मुक्त क्षेत्र के छोटे पॉकेट से समाज में बड़ा बदलाव आएगा।
डॉ. मनीषा पांडे, सीनियर कंसल्टेंट गायनेकोलॉजिस्ट ने कहा- किशोरियों को स्वस्थ नारीत्व के लिए हर तरह से तैयार करना वर्तमान समय में बहुत महत्वपूर्ण है और यह पूरे समाज की एक महत्वपूर्ण जिम्मेदारी है। युवा लड़कियों को संतुलित पोषण, नियमित शारीरिक व्यायाम के महत्व, मासिक धर्म स्वच्छता और विकारों के बारे में शिक्षित और जागरूक करना होगा। इष्टतम मानसिक स्वास्थ्य सुनिश्चित किया जाना चाहिए और नियमित परामर्श आवश्यक है। किशोरियों को भी लिंग आधारित हिंसा के प्रति संवेदनशील बनाया जाना चाहिए, ताकि जरूरत पड़ने पर वे मदद मांगने से न हिचकिचाएं
 डॉ. मनीषा पाण्डेय ने कहा कि बच्चे वास्तव में ज्ञानी और जिज्ञासु मन के होते हैं, उन्हें नियमित करने की आवश्यकता है। खेल और अन्य गतिविधियां मन को समग्र रूप से विकसित करती हैं। हमें ऐसे दोषों से दूर रहना चाहिए जो हमें नष्ट कर देंगे लेकिन ऐसी आदतें अपनानी चाहिए जो हमें शारीरिक और आध्यात्मिक रूप से भी निर्मित करें।
