ICanCaRe PINK ANGEL – CATCH THEM EARLY CAMP – 06.10.2024 with KAL & AVISHKA by MAX – Vaishali and I CAN WIN FOUNDATION
The PINK ANGEL camp, held at Royal Nest, Techzone 4, Greater Noida West, on October 6, 2024, was a tremendous success. With the theme CATCH THEM EARLY, the camp was a collaborative initiative between KAL Foundation, Avishka Council, I CAN WIN FOUNDATION, and organized by MAX Vaishali and ICanCaRe. Dr. Pawan Gupta, Sr. Director at MAX Vaishali and Founder of ICanCaRe, served as the Chief Guest. Dr. Rashi Agrawal, Clinical Oncologist at MAX, and Mr. Sumeet Ankur from Kashiyana Foundation were Guests of Honor. Dr. Nishant Srivastava (Avishka Foundation), Dr. Rajeev Verma (KAL Foundation), and Ms. Akansha Sethi (MAX) managed the event arrangements.
The camp focused on essential health screenings, with 30 women receiving mammography services and 112 individuals undergoing general screenings, including bone densitometry, oral examinations, and routine blood tests. Volunteers were acknowledged for their efforts with certificates presented by the dignitaries.
In his address, Mr. Sumeet Ankur emphasized the importance of drug control among youth and families.
Dr. Rashi Agrawal provided insights into the risk factors and early detection of breast cancer, highlighting it as the most common cancer among women worldwide.
As Chief Guest, Dr. Pawan Gupta underscored the significance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to prevent chronic diseases, resonating with the camp’s theme, which aligns with the mission of the I CAN WIN FOUNDATION. He encouraged women to perform regular breast self-examinations, stating, “Three minutes, three fingers, once every 30 days can save lives.”
Dt. Sonal Bhatia, Co-Director (Social) of ICanCaRe’s PINK ANGEL Campaign, in her message emphasised the importance of women prioritising their health, stating, “The greatest mistake a woman can make is neglecting her own well-being. If she is healthy, the entire family benefits.“
The camp, which ran from 10 AM to 4 PM, concluded with a vote of thanks and certificates awarded to all volunteers for their contributions.
The PINK ANGEL – EMPOWER HER course was conducted on October 2, 2024, aiming to empower female doctors by addressing crucial health issues specific to women. This initiative was part of a larger effort to promote awareness and education in women’s health, focusing on a holistic approach that integrates clinical knowledge with practical lifestyle advice. The course emphasized topics such as cervical and breast cancer, bone health, oral health, financial security for women, and nutritional guidance.
Participation: The course attracted 57 participants, including doctors, healthcare professionals, and women from various medical disciplines. Each participant received a certificate, underscoring their commitment to expanding their knowledge and contributing to improved healthcare for women.

2. COMMUNICATE – Talk to your brother about his tobacco use and his reasons for quitting. Choose a time and place where you can have a calm and respectful conversation with your brother. Avoid nagging, lecturing, judging, or criticizing him for his tobacco use. Instead, express your concern and care for him, and ask him how he feels about his tobacco use and his readiness to quit. Listen to his answers and try to understand his perspective. You can also share some facts and benefits of quitting tobacco that you learned from step 1 but do not overwhelm him with too much information at once. You will need to have patience.

5. BE A QUIT BUDDY. BE PATIENT. Do NOT FEEL GUILTY. – Be patient and understanding with your brother and yourself. Quitting tobacco is a personal decision and a process that takes time and effort. Your brother may not be ready to quit right away or may not quit on his first attempt. He may relapse or resume his tobacco use after quitting for a while. Do not give up on him or blame him for his failures. Instead, be patient and understanding with him and help him learn from his mistakes and try again. Remember that every quit attempt is a step forward and an opportunity to improve. Similarly, be patient and understanding with yourself, and do not feel guilty or frustrated if you cannot make your brother quit tobacco. You cannot control his behaviour or force him to change; you can only offer your support and guidance. The final decision and responsibility lie with him.
