A brief overview of ICanCaRe conducted events in both online and offline mode for sensitization, training and treatment of tobacco addiction

ICanCaRe at the Global Digital Health Summit

Dr. Pawan Gupta, Director Surgical Oncology HN, MAX Institute of Cancer Care – EZ and Founder of ICanCaRe was invited faulty for the Global Digital Health Summit held at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi

It is an honor to be invited to the Global forum and be a part of Global stalwarts who are innovating the way health will be delivered in the future.

Chair of the summit Mr. Rajendra Gupta said “the summit is a historic event of champions who will drive the healthcare revolution” The co-Chair for the summit is Mr. Brian O’Connor.

Dr. Pawan Gupta was part of the panel discussion on Continuing with the momentum post – Covid (Ideas for action). The panel was Chaired by Dr. Rajeev Raghuvanshi, Secretary -cum Scientific Director at Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission. Co-panelists were Mr. Sanjiv Navangul, Managing Director & CEO- Bharat Serums &Vaccine, Dr. Rishi Mohan Bhatnagar, President Aeris Communications, Mr. Ranjan Bargotra, Member-Board of Directors, Digital Health Associates, and Mr. Nikhil Mathur, MD India & Head of Data Partnership & Innovation- APAC, GFK.

Dr. Pawan said COVID changed the world for Digital Health. How Covid has been a boon for digitalization and changing needs for health consumers and providers. The momentum set during covid will continue and evolve. The most important is a synergy between IT, Doctors, and consumers.

He gave examples from personal experience. Facts and situations with personal examples resonated well with the audience.

ICanCaRe campaign SAVE the youth which took wing during the COVID for help on tobacco Cessation is going to revolutionize the health scenario in the future. 70% of the adult population who seek medical care are tobacco diseased, they need support and care. ICanCaRe is providing the first of its kind Digitalised Data Driven tobacco cessation program with a result unmatched in history. The ICanCaRe academy is capacity building as MARSHALs, AMBASSADOR, and SPECIALISTs with Certificate courses accredited by Gujarat University.  

 

MANPOWER supported with TECHNOLOGY is going to bring a revolution with the 5G and Metaverse being introduced in the health care system. It is time that healthcare professional adopts digital health as envisioned in the pledge document “DIGITAL HEALTH FOR ALL”

2nd ICanCaRe Tutorial for CTCS

The second Tutorial for Certified Tobacco Cessation Specialists was initiated by Dr. Mariya Tambawala and Dr. Nikita Dwivedi on 15th October 2022.

Dr. Simoni Shah a Psychologist and Certified Tobacco Cessation Specialist practicing in Mumbai presented a case for discussion.

The case was discussed in detail with inputs coming from many of the participants, and discussing the history of the patient was piecemeal, relevantly analyzing it, and finally preparing a plan for the patient.

Dr. Simoni was happy to get practical inputs to manage the case. At the same time giving other CTCS an insight into dealing with such cases.

Sowing a seed in the mind of a tobacco user, the discussion started by Dr. Mariya, saw some interesting inputs coming from all the participants. The relevant individualized advice is the most important

Dr. Nikita gave a vote of thanks and requested all the participants to submit their cases for future discussions.

All the participants thanked The trio  – Mariya, Visuja, and Nikita for initialization the tutorials which are of great help in the management of the patients. Everyone also thanked Dr. Pawan Gupta for his practical input.

24 CTCS participated in the second Tutorial.
